The collection contains the Hurworth Hunt diary of Thomas Wilkinson, 1798-1805; a volume containing his breeding list of dogs, 1809-1822, a hunting diary, 1809-1823, and some financial notes, 1693-1710, 1729-1731, from earlier owners, John Dobson and another Thomas Wilkinson; a volume containing accounts for earth topping on the Leven banks, 1809-1822, scattered brick business accounts, 1764-1767, and an undated list of dogs and bitches; and a volume with hunt related expenses, 1800-1809, 1822. The collection also contains copies of hunting books, 1799-1823, transcribed in 1881 by A.C.Thompson, including a copy of an 1804 letter to Lord Darlington; Hurworth hunt diary, 1861-1862 kept by Mr. Parrington; and Hurworth hunt diaries, 1854-1861, kept by A. C. Wilkinson, including an occasional sketch or clipping.
